For International Anti-Street Harassment Week, Today, Saturday, April 13th at Washington Square Park:

RECLAIM THE STREETS! Street harassment ends here.

12 p.m.: Rally with a mix of speakers and performers in Washington Square Park on the stage, located east of the fountain.

2 p.m.: Leave the rally to chalk the streets of New York with positive messages against street harassment. Chalk is provided!

5 p.m.: After your hard work has paid off, come to The Half Pint on the corner of Thompson and West 3rd to refuel.

The event is sponsored by Councilmember Julissa Ferreras, Hollaback!, UN Women, the Feminist Society at NYU, STEPS to End Family Violence, “Let your Voice be Heard” radio, Stop Street Harassment, Catcalled, Girls for Gender Equity and Coalition for Gender Equity in Schools, Community Driven Solutions, Inc, Center for Anti-Violence Education, Center Against Domestic Violence, New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault, RightRides, Sydnie L. Tomorrow marks two months since the One Billion Rising Dance Flash Mob I organized at the park February 14th also to highlight ending violence against women and girls. Statistics vary but U.N. statistic is that 1 in 3 women will experience violence in her lifetime. (That’s one billion women.)
