The Washington Square Park Fountain During the NYC Apocalypse

The air in Manhattan felt apocalyptic yesterday due to the impact on NYC from the Canada wildfires. Within 12 minutes, early afternoon, the Washington Square Park fountain was cleared – except for one man. The water looked a bit muddy. With smoke coming from the Canada wildfires; on downtown Sixth Avenue, the color of the sky and smell in the air felt like end times.

P.S. I didn’t note when the fountain came on this year – for those who follow it. The fountain turned on around April 9th. The set point used to be around mid-May but it’s definitely earlier in more recent years.
