This is a flashback from 2010 of the Washington Square Park Fountain Plaza. You can see to the right – east – Phase II construction is going on. Phase I of the redesign construction, including the Fountain Plaza, opened to the public one year prior in 2009. The newly planted trees, which replaced 40 year old healthy trees around the fountain, were all still alive.
