Court Hearing to Save Fort Greene Park Trees Postponed

Schematic of new plan for Fort Greene Park

The court hearing to save Fort Greene Park trees, scheduled for today, Thursday, August 22nd, has been postponed. The attorney for the Sierra Club, Richard Lippes, had his flight grounded due to storms in Buffalo where he’s based. 83 of Fort Greene Park’s mature trees are at risk of being axed by the New York City Parks Department via the agency’s proposed ‘plan’ to redesign the Brooklyn park. Look for a new court date in September.
