From the Washington Square Music Festival:
Tuesday, June 4 at 8 pm is the opening concert of the Washington Square Music Festival’s 66th season of free concerts. The Brooklyn-based Los Hacheros will give an electric, explosive, and energetic performance that signifies the essence of Latin Music. Their beat revives folkloric styles like son montuno, guaracha, and salsa, and often combines them with Bomba, a fiery rhythm from the mountains of Puerto Rico.
The concert is free, on the Main Stage in Washington Square Park, and limited seating is available. Lawn chairs and wheelchairs are welcome. The Festival is under the auspices of the Washington Square Association, and curators of the evening are flutist Itai Kris and WSMF Music Director Ahmed Alom.
