Remember when Bernie Sanders was initially the Democratic presidential contender with the most energetic base back in April 2016 and spoke to 10,000 over 25,000 people at Washington Square Park? The crowds, the energy, the excitement. Well, 2020 U.S. Presidential Candidate Elizabeth Warren is possibly trying to replicate that. Can she do it? She’ll deliver a speech at the park on Monday, September 16th at 7 p.m.

Elizabeth Warren to Deliver Speech in Washington Square Park in New York City on September 16, 2019
Charlestown, MA – On Monday, September 16th, Elizabeth Warren will deliver a speech on how corruption in Washington has allowed the rich and powerful to tilt the rules and grow richer and more powerful. The speech will be at Washington Square Park, near the site of the former Triangle Shirtwaist Factory.
The event is open to the public, and tickets can be reserved.MONDAY, September 16th

It’s unclear if you only can get in with a ticket. The Bernie Sanders event was not handled that way. There were long lines, and the park was closed off at one point, but then opened up again.
Nonetheless, here is the spot to “reserve” a ticket.

why do you need a reservation for an event in a public park?
Hi, I think you don’t but they are trying to (a) collect email addresses and (b) get a sense of how many people will be there. But it’s a misstep.

You shouldn’t
I think it’s in bad taste. It just seems that her plans are replicating Bernie, and if you need to replicate you are no better than Biden the Plagiarist. You must stand out as the one who’s not like the rest, and this just proves that’s not the case! I dont need a woman in the White House, or someone who gave Trump a standing ovation. I need someone who will not compromise and someone who has not been funded by the corporate elites in her case! Let’s pull those funding records!
I don’t see anything wrong with this, even if it is replicating Bernie. If candidates can all go to the same coffee shop in Iowa with the same 7 people eating breakfast, I don’t see any reason why a campaign stop in front of theoretically thousands of people is something that shouldn’t be replicated.
Hi Owen
Comparing a 27k big historical event to a coffee shop is the wrong anology… if you want to stand out as your own get another location or another park, nyc has plenty of parks, central park would have been perfect but to use the same park and the same location seems shady.
Is Senator Warren going to visit the Triangle Shirt Waist Fire Memorial, less than a block off of Washington Sqare Park. She should.
If Warren wants to stand out then she should try another spot, remember Bernie made a historical record of 27k
It’s better to come off as a unique candidate and not a plagiarist.
Just sayin’

By the way Warrens team confirmed I made a reservation for the event.
1. That never happened.
2. I hope it doesnt count as a part of total attendance.
If it does I will be addressing the issue
I tried reaching out to her team but as expected I’ve gotten no response.
