Washington Square Arch Mural at West 4th Street Subway

washington square park arch west 4th street subway station
At the West 4th Street-Washington Square subway station, underground near West 3rd Street entrance, a mural from the MTA, an ode to the Stanford White-designed Arch. I don’t know who the artist is and I think it is covering up construction of some sort.

“Let us raise a standard to which the wise and the honest can repair. The event is in the hand of God.” – Washington

Elsewhere on the blog, I have attempted to parse what George Washington meant by that statement, will add in link later.

  1. Hi ‘im disappointed’ ,

So, this is a blog and sometimes there are posts featuring photos that do not have a lot of text – like this one – and sometimes there are posts that are quite detailed. I, the blogger, was surprised to find this mural at the W 4th Street subway and thought others would be interested to know about it – but it is photo-based. The content at WSP Blog is often quite detailed, thoroughly researched and you won’t find elsewhere. Thanks for stopping by.
