THE MEETING OF COMMUNITY BOARD 2’S PARKS COMMITTEE SCHEDULED FOR TONIGHT, FEBRUARY 5TH, ADDRESSING (sort of) THE WASHINGTON SQUARE PARK CONSERVANCY HAS BEEN CANCELLED/POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS.
It will be rescheduled for later this month, per C.B. 2.
A subsequent item of note: When Manhattan’s Community Board 1 learned that the Howard Hughes Corporation had deceived the Board on details related to the South Street Seaport plans, they held a TOWN HALL meeting for the public to address the matter.
THAT is an appropriate response. C.B. 2 is allowing the Washington Square Park Conservancy founders an opportunity to come before the Board with an “update” on their “activities,” as if nothing deceptive had transpired. What’s that about?
This is not just about “hot dogs.”
I will post the new meeting date once it’s known!

Town Hall would be great, highly appropriate.
I think so, Patti!
The CB is being particularly protective … shall we say? … of the private conservancy despite all that has come to light. A Town Hall is even lenient – but some mechanism of review is certainly in order.
Hope you are well. Sorry for delay!
