The real love in WSP is on that hawk nest in the Bobst Library. The two fledglings have been seen on various days in the park trees, one as recent as yesterday. And yet the parks people want to put rat poison out once more starting next week. Please encourage them to postpone that or better yet find a more civilized way to deal with the rat problem. For now, that can be snap traps, which kill quickly and don’t poison the hawks that eat the rats.

Hi Ann,
I agree this is problematic. The rats aren’t really the problem – it’s controlling garbage. I will write about this again.
Thanks for posting.
