Gorgeous sand painting being created at the park near the Arch this past Saturday by artist Joe Mangrum who told me he comes to Washington Square usually every Saturday if the weather’s nice starting around noon. As a crowd gathers around him, he works on his sand paintings for about 6-8 hours expanding or changing the arrangement as the day goes on. This was what he’d designed this past weekend mid-afternoon.
