Come Join Me for a Reading and Discussion at Bluestockings Books, Lower East Side, Thursday, October 10th

Dear Blog Readers:

I’d love to have you join me for a reading, also the official release event for Tales of Washington Square Park (and a few other places), on Thursday, October 10th at Bluestockings books on the Lower East Side. We’ll also be having a discussion about the park as well as New York City’s privatization of public spaces. It’d be great to have you there and please spread the word. And it’s free!

Information:

Thursday, October 10th @ 7 p.m.
Reading + Discussion: Tales of Washington Square Park (and a few other places) with Cathryn Swan
Bluestockings Books, Lower East Side, NYC

The official release event for Tales of Washington Square Park (and a few other places), a book/zine written by Cathryn Swan, the editor of the Washington Square Park Blog, featuring twelve of her favorite stories from the blog.

The event will feature a reading by Swan, conversation about the famous Greenwich Village park and more, and discussion of New York City’s privatization of public spaces.

Cathryn Swan is the founder of the Washington Square Park Blog, an independent hyper-local website which began in 2008, just as the park’s controversial redesign construction began. She also writes articles at the Huffington Post. The book is self-published by Swan’s own imprint, B-girl Books.

Location: Bluestockings Books, 172 Allen Street between Stanton and Rivington (which is 1 block south of Houston and 1st Avenue). (It’s like two blocks from the big Whole Foods at 2nd Avenue and Houston!)

By Train/Bus: Take the F train to 2nd Ave, come above ground at 1st Ave, and walk one block south. The Delancey-Essex JMZ stop is also nearby, and the M15 bus has a stop on Allen at Stanton.

Thanks!

p.s. You can purchase the book in advance here.
