At Last, the Washington Square Park Fountain Side Plumes Return!

Ah … the saga of the missing side plumes of the Washington Square Fountain. The famous fountain, by the Bloomberg Admin’s decree, was moved 23 feet east to “align” with the Arch, and the ‘new’ structure was installed during Phase I Redesign construction. It debuted with side plumes (or jets) inside its perimeter in May of 2009. Over the last two years, the plumes have been onoffonoff. But, for now at least, as of yesterday, they have returned! I’d given up hoping they would reappear.

What a difference a plume makes…
