(Update: Postponed.)Artist Kristin Jones to Present Her “24 Hour Multi-Media” Idea Honoring the Hangmen’s Elm for Arbor Day Before Community Board 2

UPDATE: POSTPONED; NEW DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED.

Back in December 2011, the New York Times wrote about artist Kristin Jones and her idea for Arbor Day 2013:  a “24 hour multi-media project” honoring the Hangmen’s Elm at Washington Square. I wrote about it here. At the time, Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe sounded a bit skeptical. I hadn’t heard anything more but, now, as that date nears, Ms. Jones is coming before Community Board 2′s Parks Committee Wednesday, February 6th, to discuss the idea.

Details:

Wednesday, February 6th, 6:30 p.m.
Village Community School
272 W. 10th Street (between Washington and Greenwich Streets), Auditorium
